Several members of the press corps asked McCain what his placement in the Michigan primary would mean. He said that the significance of the race would be determined by the media.

McCain visited the Detroit Auto Show on Monday night. In Traverse City he told the crowd that Michigan's manufacturing sector saved the world during WWII and that Michigan manufacturing would rise again.
