Internet Pioneer/Pol Graveyard





Cutlines: Larry Kestenbaum, the Washtenaw County Clerk and Register of Deeds, created the Political Graveyard in 1996 when there were very few places for people to go when they surfed the net.

Cutline: The logo for The Political Graveyard was created by an East Lansing artist. You can see by the inscription on the tombstone, “A database of historic cemeteries,” the original intention of the site was for it to help preserve and promote historic cemeteries, but it has evolved into the most comprehensive source for political biography.
